District Administration Conducts Civil Defence Mock Drill in Bomdila Township

The District Administration, in collaboration with the Indian Army, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), District Police, Medical Department, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), and other stakeholders, conducted a Civil Defence Mock Drill today in Bomdila Township.

During the mock drill, a simulated scenario was created where a bomb threat was reported in the market area. The teams swiftly responded by evacuating civilians, rescuing victims, and managing the situation with coordinated efforts. Injured individuals were promptly shifted to safe zones and medical facilities for necessary treatment.

Addressing the participants during the drill, Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar (IAS) highlighted the objective behind organizing the exercise. She stated that the drill was aimed at spreading public awareness on how to protect oneself and respond effectively during emergencies. She further emphasized that there is no need to panic in such situations and urged citizens to cooperate with authorities in the event of any real disaster.

Superintendent of Police Sudhansu Dhama (IPS) also spoke on the occasion, informing the public about the control room that has been set up with a 24×7 helpline (1077, 948236626 and 6033920834)

He detailed the roles of the various nodal agencies involved in disaster management and assured that all necessary services will be available during emergency situations (DIPRO)
