As first responders, Assam Rifles deployed 16 columns round the clock, carried out emergency medical evacuations, restored vital infrastructure including breached embankments and damaged bridges and undertook large scale sanitation and disinfection drives to prevent disease outbreaks. More than 5,000 food packets and 8,000 water bottles were distributed, while the force also worked alongside civil administration to restore essential services and stability across the state.

Building on the success and experience of that operation, Assam Rifles remains fully prepared to respond swiftly and decisively to any flood situation this year. The people of Manipur can rely on Assam Rifles, true Sentinels of the North East, to stand by them in their hour of need.
