A critical Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief mission was launched by Indian Air Force early in the morning today, in response to a request received from state Administrations of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. 14 individuals stranded in the middle of flooded Bomjir river in the Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, cut off from main land; were safely rescued to a safe location. The operation was undertaken by Mi 17 helicopter.
Swift HADR op by IAF Mi-17 from AF Station Mohanbari rescued 14 stranded individuals from flooded Bomjir river, Arunachal Pradesh. Responding to Assam & Arunachal’s request, the mission overcame tough weather & terrain to ensure safe evacuation.
