ASSAM RIFLES LAUNCHES FOGGING DRIVE TO SAFEGUARD PUBLIC HEALTH IN BISHNUPUR DISTRICT

With the onset of the monsoon season and the associated risk of water logging, Assam Rifles has taken a proactive step to protect public health by conducting a comprehensive fogging operation in Irengbam village, Bishnupur district.

This initiative, undertaken as part of civic action measures, aims to curb the rising threat of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria and chikungunya during the rainy season.

The fogging drive was carried out in close coordination with local community leaders and health officials, targeting residential areas, public spaces and waterlogged zones that serve as mosquito breeding grounds. The operation was welcomed by villagers, arriving at a crucial time when cases of vector-borne diseases are increasing across the region.

Residents of Irengbam village expressed their gratitude for this timely intervention, noting that it has significantly strengthened public health preparedness and heightened local awareness about the importance of taking precautions against vector-borne illnesses.

Assam Rifles continues to be a torch bearer in promoting public health and safety, playing a vital role in community engagement and fostering goodwill and harmony throughout the North East region.
