A tragic incident occurred in Leh on Tuesday morning when a boulder struck an Army vehicle, resulting in the loss of two personnel and injuries to three others, officials confirmed.
According to reports, the incident took place around 11:30 a.m. while an Army convoy was traveling from Durbuk to Chongtash. A boulder rolled down the hillside and hit one of the vehicles in the convoy.
Officials said that a Lieutenant Colonel and a soldier lost their lives in the accident, while two officers of Major rank and a Captain sustained injuries. The injured personnel were immediately evacuated and shifted to an Army hospital in Leh for medical care.
The deceased have been identified as Lieutenant Colonel Bhanu Pratap Singh and Lance Dafadar Daljeet Singh. The officers injured in the incident have been identified as Major Mayank Shubham, Major Amit Dixit, and Captain G Gaurav.
Authorities are closely monitoring the condition of the injured officers, and further details are awaited.
