Assam Rifles alongwith police , as part of its ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking, conducted a search operation at Mao Gate in Senapati District. The operation led to apprehension of one individual suspected to be involved in illegal narcotics activities.During the operation, WY (World is Yours) tablets were recovered. The total weight of the seized narcotics is approximately 2.202 Kgs with an estimated value of Rs 55.2 lakhs, based on international market rates.
This successful operation reflects the steadfast commitment of Assam Rifles in combating the drug menace and maintaining peace and security in the region.
ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES HEROINE WORTH ₹1.9Cr IN JIRIBAM DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Assam Rifles recovered 22 soap cases of heroin worth approximately Rs 1.9 Crore, in a joint operation with Manipur police and CRPF. The consignment was being transported on a scooty through Jiribam District, Manipur late in the evening on 28 August 2025.
Assam Rifles launched the operation based on intelligence of trafficking of drugs in the region. During the operation, one individual, a resident of Phaitol village, Jiribam district, Manipur was also apprehended.
Assam Rifles has been at the forefront of anti-drug operations in the region, conducting regular operations to disrupt and dismantle narcotics networks. This seizure is a significant milestone in the effort to combat drug trafficking.
