In a heartwarming gesture of community bonding, Spearcorps celebrated the Solung Festival, the traditional harvest festival of the Adi community, with the children of SEED Children’s Home at Yapgo village, Pasighat.
The Solung Festival, observed annually in September, is dedicated to agricultural prosperity and community unity. It is marked by traditional rituals, cultural performances, and communal feasts that reflect the values of gratitude and togetherness deeply rooted in the Adi way of life.
As part of the celebrations, 30 children and 20 staff of SEED Children’s Home participated in cultural activities and shared a festive meal with the soldiers. The event was aimed at fostering cultural awareness, joy, and companionship between the Army and the local community.
SEED Children’s Home, established in December 2021, is a registered child care institute operating under the aegis of Humane Academy. The institute provides education and care to underprivileged children, ensuring their holistic development and integration into society.
A representative of Spearcorps said, “Festivals are moments of sharing and togetherness. Celebrating Solung with the children of SEED Children’s Home has strengthened our bond of care and cultural respect. Beyond our call of duty, we remain committed to nurturing communities we serve.”
Officials of Humane Academy expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that such celebrations bring joy and cultural belonging to the children while reinforcing their identity and values.
Through such outreach efforts, Spearcorps continues to uphold its ethos of “Service Beyond Duty”, blending compassion with commitment and contributing to the socio-cultural fabric of Arunachal Pradesh.
