This is the story of a soldier, a boxer and a world champion. A story beyond medals and glory.
From Bhiwani’s “Little Cuba” to the world stage, Junior Commission Officer Jaismine Lamboria has fought her way to history, winning gold at the World Boxing Championships 2025, defeating Olympic silver medallist Julia Szeremeta of Poland, 4 – 1 in a gripping final. She is the first Indian Army boxer to win gold at the World Championships.
Her journey was not at all easy. After the heartbreak of an early Olympic exit in Paris 2024, she rebuilt herself with Army coaches under the Mission Olympics Wing — transforming her natural “soft-nature” into ring aggression, every setback into strength. With a legacy that includes her great-grandfather, boxing legend Hawa Singh, she grew up sparring with boys when no girls were around, sharpening the speed, grit and power that define her today.
At the age of 24, she stands tall as a trailblazer fighting for glory in the ring, fighting for India like a true soldier. Her story is proof that excellence is earned with resilience and grit, and that courage wears many uniforms.
