Young Students from Tinsukia Return with Lasting Memories from National Integration Tour

In the series National Integration Tours for students of remote areas, the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavana organised a National Integration Tour for students of Tinsukia district, Assam, from 10 to 19 September 2025. For many of these students, it was their very first journey outside their hometown and what they brought back was not just photographs and sovenirs, but a new sense of pride and belonging to the nation.

The journey began in New Delhi, where the students were introduced to the heritage and grandeur of the capital. Their interaction with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan was a moment they will cherish for a lifetime. Listening to the words of the President filled the young hearts with inspiration and awe. At the National War Memorial, they paid tribute to fallen heroes. Visits to the Red Fort and national and historical museums gave them a glimpse into the struggles and sacrifices that shaped India. The children also had the joy of walking through some of Delhi’s famous malls, where they experienced the buzz of city life and enjoyed their first taste of shopping in the capital.

The tour then moved to Mumbai, where the students discovered an entirely new world. They walked through the lively streets of the financial capital, soaking in its energy and pace. For everyone, it was the first time they saw the sea and the vastness of the ocean left them amazed and wide-eyed. At the Naval Dockyard, they stepped onto the deck of a Navy warship. They then entered a submarine, an experience that left them awe struck.

The final stop was Ahilya Nagar, where the students experienced the might of the Indian Army. Riding a battle tank, feeling the rumble of Armoured vehicles, and meeting soldiers face-to-face gave them a sense of pride and admiration for the men in uniform.

For the children, the tour was nothing short of life-changing. They returned home with new confidence, wider horizons, and unforgettable memories. Through such initiatives, the Indian Army continues to nurture the youth of the North East and strengthen the bonds of unity, trust and hope across the nation.
