GREAT HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITIES BY ASSAM RIFLES IN NORTH EAST

ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS WAR-LIKE STORES AND CONTRABAND IN TUIPANG, MIZORAM

Acting on specific inputs regarding transhipment of War-Like Stores (WLS) and contraband near the Indo Myanmar border, Assam Rifles launched a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP).

The team intercepted three Kenbo bikes on Tuipang–Zawngling road , approximately 7 km southwest of Tuipang village.
On thorough search, three Myanmar nationals were found in possession of war-like-stores to include 580 rounds of 12 Gauge Shotgun cartridges, six Precision Air Rifles, one Illuminated Optical Scope and 15,000 rounds of 4.5 mm Air Pellets.

Assam Rifles also recovered multiple contraband items such as 3.5 Kg Areca Nuts, 150 tins of Tobacco, two bottles of local rum, one slab of Silicon Carbide, a total cash of 5,00,000 Kyat, and other mechanical stores.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Mr. Biehmo, S/o Vazanthang, Age 28 yrs, resident of Satu village, Matupi district, Chin State, Mr. Feithaisa, S/o Sako, Age 33 yrs, resident of Lovia village, Paletwa District, Chin State and Mr. Laibawi, S/o Chima, age 37 yrs, resident of Pasai village, Matupi district, Chin State.

The seized items and the apprehended individuals are being handed over to Police Station Tuipang for further legal proceedings.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES FOREIGN ORIGIN CIGARETTES WORTH 2.80 CRORES AT CHAMPHAI, MIZORAM

Acting on specific intelligence regarding smuggling of foreign origin cigarettes, Assam Rifles in coordination with Champhai Police launched an operation recently in general area Tlangsam, Champhai.

The consignment, moving from Tiao River towards Tlangsam via a forest route, was tracked and intercepted by the joint team at a strategic location.

During the operation, the team recovered 146 cases of contraband cigarettes, comprising 60 cases of V Cigarettes, 50 cases of Garam Cigarettes and 36 cases of Mond Cigarettes.

The contraband, valued at approximately ₹2.80 Crores, was carried by three individuals namely, Mr. Zarliana, Mr. Lalrodinga and Mr. Zosangliana. All three individuals belong to Tlangsam, Champhai, Mizoram.

The apprehended individuals and seized contraband were handed over to Legal Metrology Department, Champhai.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES 650 BAGS OF WHITE POPPY SEEDS AND ILLEGAL CIGARETTES FROM ZOKHAWSANG AND SEILING, MIZORAM

Acting on specific intelligence about movement of contraband and illegal items, Assam Rifles launched an operation in the general areas of Seiling and Zokhawsang in Mizoram.

A consignment moving in three trucks along NH 6 towards Aizawl, was intercepted at Assam Rifles gate , a vehicle check post was established by Assam Rifles in Seiling which intercepted one truck.

During the subsequent search, the team recovered a total of 650 bags of White Poppy seeds (GRADE A) and 35 Cartons of Illegal Cigarettes from the four trucks amounting to approximately ₹5.9 crores.

The operation also led to apprehension of seven individuals who were identified as Lalchanhima (31 yrs), Lalhminghlua (25 yrs), Lalrautluanga (18yrs),h
Larinchana (22 yrs),
Lalthazuala(18 yrs),
Lalthelunglinga (19 yrs),
and Lalmuanzova (27 yrs), all belonging to Champhai, Mizoram.

The contraband, vehicles and individuals were handed over to Customs Department of Aizawl.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES 60.77 KGS OF CONTRABANDS IN TRIPURA

In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, Assam Rifles carried out a successful operation in general area of Mohanpur, Agartala, Tripura.

Acting on credible intelligence, the troops swiftly intercepted a consignment of narcotics, weighing 60.77 kgs, thereby foiling an attempt to traffick narcotics into the state.

This success reflects continued commitments of Assam Rifles towards curbing the menace of narcotics and safeguarding the youth from its harmful effects.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MAJOR OPERATION AGAINST DRUG SMUGGLING IN TRIPURA

In a decisive crackdown on the menace of narcotics, a successful operation was carried out in general area of Mohanpur, Agartala, Tripura.

Acting on credible intelligence, troops swiftly intercepted a major consignment, foiling an attempt by miscreants to exploit the festive atmosphere of Durga Puja for smuggling contrabands into the state.

The operation led to the recovery of 60.77 kgs of contrabands. The success was made possible by the speedy response, precise intelligence and effective execution which prevented the narcotics from reaching their intended networks.

This achievement once again underlines the relentless commitment of the Sentinels of the North East to curb the drug trade and safeguard the youth from this dangerous menace during Durga puja celebrations.
