Indian Army Troops in Siang, Siyom and Subansiri Valley Commemorate 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ with Unmatched Patriotic Zeal

Troops deployed in the remote and strategically significant Valley regions of Siang, Siyom and Subansiri in Arunachal Pradesh commemorated 150 years of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ with great patriotic fervour and devotion at the forward locations

At first light, soldiers of the Indian Army assembled at their posts overlooking the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to join the nation in the collective singing of Vande Mataram. Against the backdrop of towering mountains and the turbulent rivers, their voices echoed through the valley — a stirring reminder of India’s unity, strength and enduring spirit.

The event was organised in accordance with directives issued by the competent authority to mark this historic milestone in the nation’s journey. Despite the isolation and harsh conditions of high-altitude deployment, the troops at all forward locations displayed exceptional enthusiasm in making the occasion special. Their participation symbolised not only a tribute to the national song but also to the ideals of sacrifice, discipline and service that the Army represents.

The Siang, Siyom and Subansiri Valleys, often referred to as one of India’s most challenging operational sectors, stand as a testament to the nation’s resolve to safeguard every inch of its territory. The troops stationed here operate in extreme terrain, far from urban centres, yet remain steadfast in duty and deeply connected to the nation’s heartbeat. The commemoration of Vande Mataram from these forward posts carried profound meaning – the spirit of the nation resonating from its outermost frontier.

Officers and men highlighted that the song’s immortal words, invoking reverence to the motherland, inspire every soldier who stands guard on the nation’s borders. The collective singing was followed by brief interactive sessions reflecting on the historical significance of Vande Mataram and its continuing relevance as a symbol of unity and courage.

The celebrations concluded with the hoisting of the tricolour and the reaffirmation of the troops’ pledge to uphold the sovereignty and honour of the nation under all circumstances.

As the echoes of Vande Mataram faded into the hills, the Valleys stood as a living symbol of India’s indomitable spirit – where every soldier’s heartbeat still chants the timeless call of the motherland.
