EASTERN COMMAND HOSTS CHINA STUDY SEMINAR: 2025

In its enduring efforts to keep abreast with contemporary as well as emerging threat dynamics, Headquarters Eastern Command organised a day long China Study Seminar at Vijay Durg, Kolkata on 08 November 2025. The China study Seminar serves as a corner stone in Eastern Command’s commitment to strengthening India’s Defence preparedness. The Seminar brought together leaders of Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, Defence experts, scholars, think tanks and domain specialists to engage in critical discussions on security dynamics India’s Northeast and expanding arc of China-Pakistan-Bangladesh collusive threat.

The seminar featured insightful presentations from leading experts like Amb G Bambawale, Mrs Riva Ganguly Das, Mr Dilip Sinha and M Jayadeva Ranade who analysed the contours of prevailing and emerging security dynamics also underscored the need for India to remain vigilant and enhance its defence capabilities in response to shifting geopolitical landscape. The participants had the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions, share best practices and deliberate upon effective strategies to address the emerging challenges.

In his closing remarks Lt Gen Ram Chander Tiwari, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command. emphasized the importance of sharpening India’s strategic readiness and reiterated Eastern Command’s Operational readiness and commitment to address emerging security challenges across entire spectrum of warfare.
