In a remarkable welfare initiative, 763 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) under Project Vartak has launched a comprehensive medical check-up drive for over 4000 road construction labourers employed across the remote high-altitude regions of Tawang district.
Mobile medical teams are conducting on-site health checkups at Damteng, Yangtse, Sungetsar, and Klemta — some of the most remote and challenging locations in Arunachal Pradesh. Each labourer’s details are being recorded through a dedicated Google Form to ensure individual health tracking and continuity of care.
The check-up includes height, weight, eyesight, hearing, blood pressure, and oxygen level monitoring, ensuring early detection of health issues in these high-altitude working conditions.
Locals have appreciated the efforts of BRO for this thoughtful step.
“BRO not only builds roads here, they take care of the people who make it possible,” said Tsering Wangchu, a local village head near Yangtse.
Another villager remarked, “Such medical drives mean a lot for our labour community who work far from towns. We are thankful to BRO and Project Vartak.”
This initiative underscores the humanitarian and welfare-oriented approach of BRO, ensuring that those who toil in extreme weather and terrain receive timely medical attention and care.
Project Vartak and 763 BRTF continue to uphold the spirit of service, commitment, and compassion — connecting borders and hearts alike.
