ASSAM RIFLES DESTROYED 25 ACRES OF POPPY CULTIVATION IN KANGPOKPI DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Based on intelligence regarding illicit poppy cultivation, Assam Rifles alongwith CRPF and Manipur Police launched a joint operation in general area Loibol Khullen in Kangpokpi District, Manipur recently.
The operation commenced in the early hours and involved large scale area domination and search of suspected pockets. During the operation, the joint team discovered and destroyed about 25 acres of illicit poppy cultivation which had the potential to yield over 170 kgs of opium, worth multiple crores, thereby dealing a significant blow to illegal drug networks active in the region.
Conducted under challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions, the operation highlights the unwavering efforts of Assam Rifles to curb illicit narcotics cultivation and dismantle the financial networks that fuel insurgency and other anti-national activities.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES CONTRABAND CIGARETTES WORTH ₹52 LAKHS IN CHAMPHAI, MIZORAM
In a determined effort to curb cross border illegal trade, Assam Rifles successfully intercepted a large consignment of contraband cigarettes from Tlangsam, Champhai, Mizoram.
Based on intelligence inputs about movement of illicit goods in Indo-Myanmar border region, Assam Rifles personnel launched an operation and intercepted a Bolero camper vehicle driven by Mr. Lalhmingmawia Ralte.
During the search, the party recovered 38 cases of ESSE Light Cigarettes and 2 cases of International Master Piece Cigarettes, collectively valued at approximately ₹52 lakhs in the open market.
All seized items along with apprehended individual and vehicle were handed over to Legal Metrology Department, Champhai for detailed investigation and further legal proceedings.
ASSAM RIFLES ASSIST IN SEARCH OF MISSING STUDENTS AT HARANGAJAO DIMA HASAO
In a swift and coordinated response, Assam Rifles extended assistance in the ongoing search operation to locate missing students of NIT Silchar, who reportedly went missing at Bahkol waterfall, in Lower Boulsol, Harangajao.
Upon receiving the information, a special team of Assam Rifles immediately mobilized to the site to carry out search operation alongwith Assam Police and State Disaster Response Force. Surveillance drones were also deployed to locate missing students. Despite challenging terrain and strong water currents, Assam Rifles continued to operate in close coordination with district authorities, extending all possible assistance and support until the completion of the search operation.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES YABA TABLETS WORTH ₹6 CRORES IN CACHAR DISTRICT, ASSAM
Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Cachar Police launched an operation based on information of trafficking of drugs in Cachar district.
During the operation, the team apprehended one individual, resident of Silchar who was transporting 20,000 Yaba Tablets worth ₹6 Crores via Silchar Bypass Road.
The mobile in possession of the individual was also confiscated and further investigation is underway.

ASSAM RIFLES IN A JOINT OPERATION DESTROYED ILLICIT POPPY CULTIVATION IN MANIPUR
Based on specific intelligence regarding large scale illicit poppy cultivation, Assam Rifles alongwith CRPF and Manipur Police launched an operation in general area Awlmun, in Kangpokpi District, Manipur.
The operation commenced in the early hours and during the search, the joint team discovered and destroyed approximately 25 acres of illicit poppy cultivation along with eight huts used for processing and storage activities.
The destroyed poppy fields had the potential to yield around 190 kilograms of opium worth multiple of crores.
The operation was conducted under challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions underscoring the resolve of Assam Rifles to eradicate narcotics trafficking and dismantle financial networks that support insurgent and anti-national activities.
ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS METHAMPHETAMINE TABLETS WORTH ₹45 CRORES IN NGOPA, SAITUAL, MIZORAM
In a joint effort of Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police to curb spread of drug menace in Mizoram, a sucessful anti-narcotics operation was conducted recently.
Based on specific intelligence about movement of drugs on Ngopa-Saitual Road, a joint operation was launched in general area Ngopa. The team of Assam Rifles established a vehicle check post which intercepted the suspected vehicle carrying drugs. During the search operation, 15 Kgs of Methamphetamine Tablets worth ₹45 Crores were recovered from two persons, Rabizul Haq, s/o Sazuddin and Naasiruddin, s/o Adul Hassan both resident of Barpeta, Assam.
Recovered contraband along with apprehended individuals and their vehicle were handed over to Saitual Police for detailed investigation and further legal proceedings.
ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS HEROIN NO. 4 WORTH ₹33.50 LAKHS IN LUNGLEI, MIZORAM
Based on specific intelligence regarding transportation of narcotics, Assam Rifles launched an operation in general area Venglai, Lunglei.
The team intercepted two suspected individuals and on thorough search, recovered approximately 47.34 grams of Heroin No. 4.from Mrs Lalhimawmi, age 43 yrs, w/o Lalhmingmuana and Mr Lalhmingmuana, Age 32 yrs s/o L H Lalrinliana both resident of Venglai, Lunglei district, Mizoram.
The recovered contraband along with the apprehended individuals was handed over to Lunglei Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
