A 16-member delegation from the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) visited Walong, Arunachal Pradesh, as part of their field study tour aimed at understanding operational dynamics in high-altitude and remote border regions. The delegation, comprising senior officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, paid solemn homage at the Walong War Memorial to the brave soldiers who fought valiantly in the historic Battle of Walong in 1962.
During the visit, the officers were briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational challenges and the critical role of integrated logistics in the Eastern Himalayan terrain. They interacted with troops deployed under the Dao Division and expressed deep appreciation for their high standards of professionalism, operational readiness and dedication while serving in extremely demanding conditions.
The delegation also acknowledged the seamless synergy among the Services and the effective utilisation of technology and innovative practices adopted to enhance combat preparedness. The visit provided valuable insights into joint operations and reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to safeguarding the nation’s frontiers.
