Sikkim to Host Iconic Super Car Rally in December

Sikkim is gearing up to host an iconic Super Car Rally this December, featuring Lamborghinis, Porsches and other high-performance machines on some of the most dramatic Himalayan roads.

The event, scheduled from 12 to 14 December, is supported by the Black Cat Division under the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army and the Government of Sikkim. The rally will begin at Sukna in West Bengal and zoom through Siliguri, Gangtok, Cho La, Natu La and the breathtaking Gnathang–Dzaluk stretch.

The first coordination meeting was held at the District Administrative Centre in Gangtok, co-chaired by District Collector Gangtok Tushar G Nikhare, Additional Political Secretary Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, and representatives of the Indian Army.

Organised by Mumbai-based The Supercar Route — a collaboration between Zain Rais Entertainment and Bay Experiences — the rally is self-funded and self-driven. The organisers say the aim is to position Sikkim as one of India’s most scenic and premier driving destinations.

Speaking to the media Additional Political Secretary Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha emphasised that the rally aligns perfectly with the state’s tourism vision.
“This event is an opportunity to reintroduce Sikkim to the world as a destination where natural beauty meets world-class road networks,” the APS said.
He added that the rally would highlight Sikkim’s readiness to host high-end tourism activities and strengthen its identity as a Himalayan motor-touring hotspot.

The rally also forms part of the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative of the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Tourism. The route includes historic sites such as Cho La, remembered for the 1967 Indo-China skirmishes and now emerging as a significant location for battlefield tourism.

Expressing confidence in the event’s success, the APS further noted,
“By bringing this rally to Sikkim’s border regions, we are not only promoting tourism but also showcasing the strategic importance and beauty of these landscapes.”
