Helicopter Fare Reduced to ₹3,100 on Gangtok–Bagdogra Route: STDC Issues New Order

The Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) has officially revised the helicopter fare for the Gangtok–Bagdogra and Bagdogra–Gangtok sector, reducing the one-way ticket price to ₹3,100, down from the earlier ₹4,500. The new fare comes into immediate effect following approval from the Government of Sikkim.

Along with the fare revision, the baggage policy has also been updated. Passengers can now carry up to 7 kg of luggage for free, while excess baggage between 8–15 kg will be charged at ₹50 per kg, and ₹500 per kg for weight above 15 kg, subject to cargo space availability.

STDC confirmed that rates for joyrides and chartered flights will remain unchanged, while medical flight charges are fixed at ₹77,500 in line with the revised structure.

All STDC units have been directed to publicize the new fares widely. For any clarifications, passengers may contact the Travel Division, Burtuk Heliport, or the Helicopter Service Counter at Bagdogra.
