The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow hosted its grand alumni reunion event, Nostalgia 2025, from 19th to 21st December 2025. Themed “Roots & Wings”, the three-day event celebrated the Institute’s legacy as the foundation of shared journeys and a launchpad for alumni achievements across the globe.
The reunion brought together alumni from the batches of 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015, offering them an opportunity to reconnect with batchmates and engage meaningfully with their alma mater.
The event began with guided campus tours that took the alumni to classrooms, hostels, and campus landmarks. The formal commencement of the programme started with a symbolic plantation drive by the alumni, representing legacy, growth, and continuity.
Speaking during the inaugural event, Prof. M. P. Gupta, Director, IIM Lucknow, said, “While you graduated in different years, you remain united in carrying forward IIM Lucknow’s legacy across the globe. Your presence from diverse countries reflects the strength of our global alumni network. I strongly believe that closer collaboration between the Institute and alumni chapters will help build a more engaged and sustainable alumni ecosystem.”
Prof. Gupta encouraged alumni to mentor students of the current batches and envisioned expanding alumni engagement beyond the Lucknow campus to major cities, including Bengaluru and Mumbai.
During his address, Prof. Rajesh K. Aithal, Chairperson, Alumni Affairs, IIM Lucknow, said, “This gathering is not just a reunion, but a chance to revisit memories, friendships, and experiences that shaped our journeys collectively. I firmly believe that being a student is one of the most privileged phases of life, a period defined by learning, discovery, and personal growth. These years leave a lasting imprint on us, and it is important that we continue to cherish and celebrate them, even as we move forward in our professional and personal lives. I extend a very warm welcome to all our alumni and hope that the next three days provide each of you with a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with the campus and relive your college days.”
Key activities during the three-day event included Batch Wars and a friendly sports competition, along with a marathon symbolising alumni journeys beyond campus. Another interesting activity scheduled for day two of the event included an academic throwback session led by Prof. R. K. Srivastava, recreating the classroom experience for the alumni.
The major highlight of day two of the event was the Re-Graduation Ceremony, where alumni once again donned graduation robes in a moment filled with pride and nostalgia.
Sharing his experience of Nostalgia 2025, an alumnus said, “While the campus has evolved over the years, what truly endures are the bonds of friendship and shared experiences. Returning after fifteen years reminded me that IIM Lucknow continues to grow positively while preserving its core spirit.”
The concluding day of the event featured a Lucknow city tour, allowing alumni to explore the city’s cultural heritage and culinary traditions. The reunion concluded with a closing ceremony, Batch Wars prize distribution, final photographs, and farewells.
Nostalgia 2025 reaffirmed the enduring bond between IIM Lucknow and its alumni, celebrating identity, journeys, and lifelong connections beyond the classroom.
