Based on intelligence of trafficking of counterfeit goods, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Customs Department Silchar, recovered counterfeit cigarettes from a godown worth ₹34 Lakhs. The consignment was being transported via Silchar for further distribution.
Assam Rifles and Customs Department Silchar have been at forefront of operations against counterfeit goods in the region, conducting regular operations to disrupt and dismantle the counterfeit networks.
This seizure is a significant milestone in the effort to combat counterfeit goods trafficking.
ASSAM RIFLES AND DRI SEIZE GOLD BISCUITS AND CURRENCY AT AGARTALA
Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized gold biscuits and unaccounted currency during an operation conducted in general area Shantipara and Dhaleshwar, Agartala, Tripura.
During the operation, gold biscuits weighing approximately 14 kg valued at around ₹19 crore alongwith Indian currency amounting to ₹2.87 crore were recovered. The successful seizure was carried out by Assam Rifles based on specific intelligence inputs.
The seized gold and currency were subsequently handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The operation highlights the continued vigilance and coordinated efforts of Assam Rifles in collaboration with sister agencies to curb illegal activities and maintain security in the region.
ASSAM RIFLES DESTROY GANJA PLANTS IN SOUTH TRIPURA
Based on intelligence inputs, Assam Rifles carried out an operation for destruction of illegal ganja cultivation in general area Dhanpur, Induria, Kacchakhala and Dhanmura located approximately 66 km south of Agartala.
The operation was conducted alongwith BSF, Tripura Police, Tripura State Rifles and Forest Department.
During the operation, approximately six lakh younge ganja plants cultivated over an area of about 200 acres were destroyed. The estimated market value of the destroyed contraband is approximately ₹36 crore.
The operation highlights continued vigilance and coordinated efforts of Assam Rifles in collaboration with sister agencies to curb illegal activities and maintain security in the region.
