Mechukha students Interact with President of India under National Integration Tour

A group of students and teachers from Govt Higher Secondary School, Mechukha, Arunachal Pradesh had the honour of meeting and interacting with the Hon’ble President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan as part of their National Integration Tour (Delhi–Pune–Mumbai–Itanagar | 05–16 January 2026). The interaction marked a memorable and inspiring highlight of the educational tour aimed at broadening the horizons of youth from remote border regions.

In another event they interacted with the Cabinet Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, as part of their National Integration Tour. The visit provided the students with a unique opportunity to witness first-hand the functioning of India’s highest democratic institution and to gain deeper insight into the country’s parliamentary system.

During the interaction, Kiren Rijiju encouraged the students to actively participate in nation building, uphold constitutional values and aspire to contribute meaningfully to society. He highlighted the importance of youth in shaping the future of the nation and motivated the students to remain disciplined, informed and socially responsible citizens.

The students also undertook a guided tour of Parliament House, where they were familiarised with its history, architectural significance and legislative processes. The exposure enhanced their understanding of democratic governance, the role of elected representatives and the functioning of the Indian Constitution as the custodian of the nation’s unity in diversity.

For the students from the remote border region of Mechukha, the visit was both educational and inspiring. It instilled a sense of pride in national institutions and reinforced their connection with the democratic fabric of the country. Many students expressed that the experience had broadened their perspective and strengthened their aspiration to serve the nation in various capacities.

The National Integration Tour continues to serve as a vital platform for exposing young minds to India’s institutional framework, cultural heritage and core national values.
