Translation is a bridge that spreads sunshine and light from one language to another. Recently, a major translated work, ‘Charu-Vasanta’, was inaugurated at Gandhi Bhavan at Bengaluru. The original author is the renowned Kannada writer Hampa Nagarajaiah.
The book has been translated into Bengali by the accomplished Bengali poet and translator Saumyajit Acharya. President of the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi, Dr. L. N. Mukundaraj, the President of Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati, Dr. Channappa Katti, the Kannada literature and Jainism expert, Dr. Hampana Nagarajaiah, the well-known Bengali fiction writer and translator Dr. Shyamal Bhattacharya, the President of Seshadri Nagar Education Trust, Dr. V. P. Krishna, Kannada poets H. N. Rajashree and H. N. Arathi and other prominent personalities from the Kannada literary world, along with many enthusiastic readers were present at this intellectual event.
The large translated Bengali book ‘Charu-Basanta’, has 410 pages, Printed by Swan Krishnamurthy. Published by Shyamal Bhattacharya. The entire event was organized by Kamala Hampana Sahitya Vedika.
