Lt Gen Man Raj Singh Mann, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps, along with Mrs Ritu Mann, Zonal President, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), attended the event and interacted with the participants, parents and organisers. The inclusive sports carnival witnessed participation from over 450 specially abled children representing 25 schools across North Bengal, celebrating courage, perseverance and self-belief through sport.
Interacting with the children, parents and organisers, Lt Gen Man Raj Singh Mann placed on record his appreciation for the efforts of the North Bengal Council for the Disabled and remarked:
> “MUSKAN is much more than a sports meet. It is a celebration of courage, perseverance and self-belief. Such initiatives break barriers, challenge stereotypes and reaffirm that children with special abilities are capable of far more than often presumed.”
He further emphasised that inclusive initiatives play a vital role in nurturing confidence, fostering social integration and creating meaningful pathways for children to grow and flourish in a compassionate environment.
The Indian Army’s support to the event reflects its enduring commitment to community welfare and inclusive development, reinforcing its ethos as a People’s Army working in close partnership with civil society.
