350 Recruits marched in perfect rhythm and synchronisationat the Jasram Parade Ground of the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School at Shokhuvi in Nagaland today. The occasion was the Attestation Parade to mark the completion of 44 weeks of gruelling training in battle craft, weapon handling, firing and specialization in Counter Insurgency Operations.
The parade was reviewed by Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Minister of State for Home Affairs.
Addressing the recruits, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, highlighted the rich history of the Assam Rifles as the oldest paramilitary force of the country and its multiple roles.The brave soldiers of Assam Rifles have proved their mettle not only in the North East but also in J&K.
He called upon the Recruits to serve the Nation with all sincerity besides asking them to keep pace with technology. He congratulated the recruits and their proud parents on successful completion of their training and wished them success and happiness in all their future endeavours.
Outstanding recruits were recognized for their performance during the training, Recruit (GD) Lalliankhaul was adjudged Best in Firing and also declared the Overall Best Recruit, Recruit (GD) Wangkai was awarded Best in Drill and Recruit (GD) Vekhota Lohe was awarded Best in Physical Training.
The newly passed out Riflemen will now join their respective Units in all frontline duties and continue to serve the Nation thereby making it a moment of glory not only for the Assam Rifles but also for the entire Nation.
