In a significant political development in Assam, State Sports Minister Nandita Garlosa has officially joined the Indian National Congress, triggering fresh discussions in the state’s political landscape.
Garlosa, a prominent face from the hill districts and a key leader representing the Dima Hasao region, made the switch amid growing speculation about internal differences and shifting alliances within the state’s ruling setup. Her move is being seen as a strategic gain for the Congress, especially in regions where regional identity and grassroots connect play a crucial role.
She will be contested Congress candidate from Haflong. Earlier she was denied ticket from BJP. In her place, Rupali Langsthasa was fielded from Haflong.
She joined the party in the presence of Nirmal Langthasa, APCC General Secretary on Sunday.
