Indian Army Strengthens Lifeline in Remote Arunachal

In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare support in remote and high-altitude areas, a Containerised Oxygen Generation Plant and Refilling Centre was inaugurated on March 26, 2025 at the Field Hospital at Borarupak in Subansiri Valley.

The facility, contributed by the Soldiers’ Independent Rehabilitation Foundation, was inaugurated by the General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, in the presence of senior Indian Army officials, representatives of the State Administration, local community members and veterans.

This vital installation is designed to ensure a continuous and reliable supply of medical-grade oxygen, significantly enhancing the capability of the Field Hospital to cater to both serving soldiers and civilians in this challenging terrain. In high-altitude and remote regions, where logistics and medical resources are often constrained, the availability of a dedicated oxygen generation and refilling facility serves as a critical lifeline.

The initiative stands as a shining example of civil-military synergy, reflecting the spirit of “Nation First” and reinforcing the enduring partnership between the Armed Forces and civil society. The contribution by SIRF underscores a shared commitment towards humanitarian service and national well-being.

Beyond infrastructure, the facility symbolises hope, resilience and preparedness, ensuring that timely medical support reaches those who serve the nation as well as the local population.

This endeavour reaffirms the Indian Army’s unwavering dedication to nation-building, community care and operational readiness in some of the most demanding environments of the country.
