Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam at a grand swearing-in-ceremony held at the College of Veterinary Science playground, Khanapara, on Tuesday.
Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, administered the oath of office and of secrecy to Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in the august presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other senior ministers.
The Governor also administered the oath of office and of secrecy to four other minister Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro and Ajanta Neog.
Dignitaries present on the occasion were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Waterways, Ports and Shipping Sarbananda Sonowal, among other dignitaries.
