Bomdila Unites for International Yoga Day

 The District Administration in collaboration with the District Ayush Society, West Kameng, celebrated International Yoga Day at the auditorium of Government Higher Secondary School, Bomdila, with enthusiastic participation from SSB personnel, 2nd Arunachal Scouts, NDRF, Brahma Kumaris, school students, government officials and members of the public.

The programme was graced by Dr. Dilip Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Dr D W Thongon, Superintendent of Police of West Kameng; Col Parikshit Das, Commanding Officer, 2nd Bn Arunachal Scouts; senior officers from the Health & Family Welfare Department and AYUSH Department, along with other dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, DC highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being. He urged everyone to adopt yoga as a daily practice for healthy living and emphasised this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” underscoring its benefits for people of all age groups.

On the occasion, the District Administration and West Kameng Police also conducted awareness on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, sensitising participants on the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging youth to lead a healthy, disciplined and drug-free life.

The programme concluded with a guided yoga session and a collective pledge to promote yoga.
