RBI Guwahati Marks MSME Day with Focus on Women Entrepreneurs at NEDFi House

In observance of International MSME day the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Guwahati, organised the MSME Day event at NEDFi House, Guwahati on July 22,2026.

The programme was graced by Dr. Ravi Kota, Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Smt. Sushmita Phukan, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Shri Ramesh Ganta, Chief General Manager, NABARD and representatives from the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam, and the MSME-Development and Facilitation Office.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ravi Kota highlighted the vital contribution of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly women entrepreneurs, to the economic development of the region. He encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage the benefits of formalisation and adopt responsible banking practices for sustainable growth.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the North East Women Entrepreneurs Association and Laghu Udyog Bharati.

The programme featured informative sessions on RBI guidelines relating to MSMEs and various initiatives undertaken by stakeholders to support the sector. Discussions focused on enhancing access to credit, addressing key challenges faced by MSMEs, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

A dedicated session on Government initiatives provided participants with an overview of various schemes and policy measures available for MSMEs.
