Assam Flood Death Toll Reaches 75; Bollywood and Assamese Icons Rally Behind Relief Efforts

Assam continues to battle a devastating flood crisis, with the death toll rising to 75 and more than 5 lakh people affected across seven districts. Rescue and relief operations are continuing round the clock as teams from the NDRF, SDRF, the Indian Army, and district administrations work to evacuate stranded residents and provide food, drinking water, medicines, and other essential supplies.
The floods have submerged villages, damaged homes, roads, bridges, cropland, and public infrastructure, leaving thousands of families displaced. Relief camps are sheltering affected residents while authorities closely monitor river levels and weather conditions.
Amid the humanitarian crisis, several well-known personalities have stepped forward to express solidarity with the people of Assam. Salman Khan, through his Being Human Foundation, has extended support for flood relief initiatives. Alia Bhatt has appealed for compassion and assistance for those affected. Acclaimed Assamese actor Adil Hussain has used his platform to raise awareness about the scale of the disaster, while renowned singer Papon has urged people to support relief efforts and stand with flood-affected families.
As Assam faces yet another devastating flood season, every contribution—whether through relief work, donations, or spreading awareness—can make a meaningful difference. The road to recovery will require sustained support and collective action to help affected communities rebuild their lives.
