IRCTC Beta Website: A Modern, User-Centric Digital Transformation

Indian Railways launched the all-new IRCTC Beta Website on July 15, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the digital evolution. As a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, IRCTC continues to enhance passenger experience by introducing a platform designed with cutting-edge technology and modern aesthetics, ensuring faster, simpler, and more reliable railway reservations for millions of users across India.

Building on its legacy of enabling seamless travel planning and booking, the revamped platform focuses on delivering an intuitive user experience. The redesigned interface features a sleek, contemporary look inspired by global design trends such as Glassmorphism, offering a visually appealing and engaging journey from login to ticket confirmation. With this upgrade, passengers can now enjoy a more structured and easily digestible presentation of information, guiding them effortlessly through their booking process.

The new platform’s optimized workflows have resulted in measurable improvements in booking speed in comparison of data of 1st and 2nd fortnight of the month. Recent data indicate a more than 5% increase in bookings completed within the 3-minute tatkal window & a 3% rise in the 5-minute tatkal booking window and over a 2% increase in the 30-minute window, demonstrating the platform’s ability to facilitate quicker booking experience. The online booking share has also increased to 89.84 % as on July 2026 as compared to previous months. Further, the online ticket booking system has significantly offloaded the PRS by providing a comprehensive digital platform.

Based on constructive feedback by users, IRCTC has significantly reduced interruptions such as repetitive CAPTCHAs and intrusive pop-up messages. The new website ensures a smooth, seamless digital journey, allowing passengers to focus solely on their booking tasks without unnecessary disruptions.

The revamped interface consolidates availability information for multiple travel classes—such as Sleeper, AC 3 Tier, and AC 2 Tier—onto a single screen. This feature enables passengers to compare options at a glance, reducing navigation effort and empowering them to make informed decisions swiftly. This initiative of Indian Railways/IRCTC has been launched with the purpose of:-

a) Improving User Interface.

b) Enhance User Experience.

c) Provide a seamless and elevated experience of ticket booking and allied activities on the NGeT IRCTC Platform.

The launch of the IRCTC Beta Website is thus more than a visual overhaul; it is a comprehensive reimagining of the online railway reservation experience. This platform lays a robust foundation for future innovations, aiming to make railway reservations faster, simpler, and more reliable than ever before. The overhauling of the website is an ongoing process and based on the user feedback, the system shall be continuously fine-tuned for a better user experience.

Through this digital transformation, Indian Railways reaffirms its commitment to delivering world-class services that prioritize passenger convenience and satisfaction.
