Bharat Sevashram Sangha Extends Lifeline to Assam Flood Victims

Amid the devastating floods in Assam, the humanitarian efforts of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha have brought much-needed relief to affected communities. Through its Shillong branch, the organisation has been distributing essential supplies and providing medical assistance to flood-hit families across the state.
In the first phase, relief materials including drinking water, rice, dry food, disinfectants, soap, bleaching powder, and spraying machines were sent to Jorhat. The second phase, carried out in collaboration with the Dibrugarh branch, reached several flood-affected villages in Sivasagar district with food grains, mosquito nets, blankets, clothing, sanitary pads, plastic mats, and cleaning equipment.
The Sangha also organised a free medical camp, where doctors provided health check-ups, medicines, and treatment to residents facing post-flood health risks.
The organisation has announced that its relief mission will continue in the coming weeks, with plans to support long-term rehabilitation, including the possibility of adopting an entire flood-affected village for reconstruction and recovery.
