India successfully concluded the Tenth BRICS Industry Ministers’ Meeting in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 6, 2026, under its BRICS Chairship 2026, reaffirming its commitment to building stronger industrial partnerships among emerging economies. Held under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” the meeting focused on strengthening industrial cooperation, promoting innovation, and creating resilient industries for the future.
Addressing the gathering, Piyush Goyal welcomed delegates to Jaipur, describing the Pink City as a perfect blend of rich craftsmanship and modern industrial aspirations. He emphasized that BRICS nations must convert shared aspirations into practical cooperation and innovation while leveraging their complementary strengths through the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR).
Jitin Prasada reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening industrial collaboration among BRICS nations. He stressed that cooperation, innovation, and mutual trust are essential to building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready industrial ecosystem.
During his address, Piyush Goyal recalled that the BRICS journey began with the inaugural summit in Yekaterinburg in 2009. He appreciated Brazil’s leadership during its 2025 Chairship and said India would continue this legacy through a pragmatic and result-oriented approach aimed at delivering tangible benefits for all member countries.
A major highlight of the meeting was the adoption of the Joint Declaration of the Tenth BRICS Industry Ministers’ Meeting, reflecting the collective resolve of member nations to move beyond dialogue and implement practical initiatives that strengthen industries, promote innovation, and improve livelihoods.
India also showcased significant progress under its BRICS Chairship through PartNIR, including the finalization of the Framework for Cooperation in the SME Working Group, adoption of the Terms of Reference and Action Plan for the Photovoltaic Industry Working Group, and the Action Plan for innovation-led startup growth. Delegates also emphasized the importance of resilient transport and logistics systems, GIS-based infrastructure planning, and city logistics planning.
Industry Ministers and senior representatives from BRICS countries shared their national experiences and policy initiatives, highlighting digital transformation, industrial innovation, capacity building, and resilient supply chains. Member countries appreciated India’s efforts in strengthening institutional cooperation and promoting practical collaboration across the BRICS bloc.
The momentum continues as India hosts the 16th BRICS Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Jaipur on August 7, following the Third Meeting of the BRICS Contact Group on Economic and Trade Issues held in New Delhi earlier this week. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening the multilateral trading system, expanding MSME participation in global trade, building resilient global value chains, and facilitating cross-border digital services.
The Trade Ministers will also experience India’s cultural heritage through visits to the City Palace and Hawa Mahal.
With both ministerial meetings, India has reinforced its vision of promoting an open, inclusive, transparent, and rules-based global trading system while advancing the goals of Viksit Bharat@2047 through resilient supply chains, innovation-driven growth, stronger MSMEs, and deeper economic cooperation among BRICS nations.
