On 24 July, 2022, in the early morning hours, the troops of Border Out Post Hridaypur, 82 Battalion noticed suspicious movements of smugglers 05-06 from the Indian side who were moving towards International Boundary taking advantage of the dense jute fields and darkness. BSF jawans challenged the smugglers and ordered them to stop. Seeing the aggressive attitude of the BSF Party, the smugglers fled towards Indian territory taking advantage of the dark and high growth jute field. On getting information about the matter, Company Commander Santosh Kumar Thakur reached the spot along with his team and searched the area. During the search, 6 sacks were recovered from which 25 kg human hair was recovered.
The seized items had been handed over to the Police Station Chapra for further legal action.
Shri Sanjay Prasad Singh, Commanding Officer, 82 Battalion expressed happiness over this achievement of his jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by the jawans on duty. The officer clearly stated that nothing can hide from the eyes of his troops. Sh Singh further stated in clear words that he would not allow any kind of smuggling in his area.
