DUE TO THE INITIATIVE OF BSF, DAUGHTER LIVING IN INDIA GOT THEIR LAST GLIMPSE OF HER DECEASED FATHER

The incident is of Muslimpur, a border village of Malda district. On 27 July, 2022 Village Head Sajjad Ali informed the Company Commander of the Border Out Post Kistopur, 44 Battalion, Sector Malda that a Bangladeshi citizen named Mujibur Rahman, age 80 years, has died at about 0830 am in village Hussainbhita, Bangladesh. His daughter and son-in-law live across the border in the Indian border village Muslimpur, District Malda (Bengal). This village is located in India, about 200 meters from the International Boundary.

The Company Commander, keeping in mind the humanitarian and emotional aspect, immediately contacted his counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officers through the High Headquarters without any delay. Therefore, in view of mutual cooperation, the border security forces of both countries, keeping humanity paramount, arranged for his daughter living in India to have a last glimpse of his father on the zero line, IB on July 27, 2022 from 1230 to 1240 hrs. In this way the last glimpse of his relatives became possible. After the last glimpse, the daughter and son-in-law of the deceased expressed his gratitude for this initiative of the Border Security Force and said that due to the humanity of you people, we have got the last glimpse of our father.

On this episode, Shri Suresh Kumar, Commanding Officer, 44 Battalion stated that BSF troops are posted on the border day and night without blinking and are capable of thwarting any kind of infiltration. Apart from this, from time to time, they stand shoulder to shoulder in happiness and sorrow with the border people.
