A few days ago two drug peddlers arrested from Karimganj with 3.5 to 7 crore illegal drugs.
On 26 May Jalukbari police arrested two peddlers and seized 19 vials of suspected brown sugar weighing 7.150 grams. The police also seized 4 phone phones and cash worth Rs. 2500.
Continuing with the crackdown on drug peddlers, on 27 May Namrup DSP Kula Pradip Bhattacharjee successfully supervised another operation at Naharkatia and caught two drug peddlers.
Based on the information, a team of Naharkatia police led by Officer Incharge Bhaskarjyoti Saikia on Thursday conduct a raid at the Shop of Rantu Das (21) at Daily Bazar, Naharkatia, and recovered 5 gm suspected Heroine along with another drug paddler Zamil Qureshi (23)of Naharkatia Lachit Nagar. The police team also searched their houses at Purani Gaon under Duliajan PS and Naharkatia and recovered empty plastic containers used for smuggling of Heroine. The police are interrogating the culprits to trace more information.
