Northeast got first ever chess International Master

The 14-year-old Shahil Dey from Assam becomes Northeast’s first-ever chess International Master norm at the GM Round Robin Tournament held in Serbia.

The 14-year-old has represented India at various competitions. In recognition of his achievements in chess.

His overall performance rating stands at 2473.

He has also been awarded the ‘National Child Award’.

He is currently coached by International Master Roktim Bandyopadhyay in Kolkata.
