Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday wrote Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw demanding the extension of the Vistadome tourist train to Silchar.
Gaurav also added Barak Valley of Assam provides a picturesque landscape, adorned with rich flora and fauna. Sharing borders with Bangladesh, allows tourists to experience the unique geographical panorama along with the cultural traditions of Assam.
Earlier, Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy also demanded the extension of Vistadome up to Badarpur.
This train service between Guwahati to New Haflong was started on August 28.
