BSF APPREHENDED 02 INDIAN SMUGGLERS WITH PHENSEDYL BOTTLES

On 26 December, 2021, BSF, South Bengal Frontier troops apprehended 02 Indian smugglers with 199 Phensedyl bottles. The smugglers were trying to smuggle these Phensedyl bottles from India to Bangladesh from Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, North 24 Parganas District.

On 26 December, 2021 at around 2215 hrs, based on specific information, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, saw 02 suspicious persons coming from Swaroopada to Hakimpur from mustard field. The Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Border Security Force challenged both the men to stop. On seeing the BSF troops both the smugglers started running but troops chased and apprehended them. Two plastic bags in which 199 Phensedyl bottles were recovered from both the possession of apprehended smugglers. The apprehended miscreants have been identified as 1) Kamal Hussain, 32 years, S/o– Abjan Ghazi, Village – Hakimpur, Post Office – Hakimpur, PS– Swaroop Nagar, District – North 24 Parganas,
2) Hansanur Sardar, age 26 years, S/o– Farooq Sardar, Village – Swarupada, Post Office – Hakimpur, Thana Swaroopnagar, District – North 24 Parganas.

During preliminary interrogation, the apprehended smugglers revealed that they smuggle for their sustenance. He revealed that he had taken these Phensedyl bottles from Ibad Ghazi, Zulfikar Dafadar, S/o– Faizul Dafadar and Yusuf Dafadar, S/o– Bajlu Dafadar (Village Dharkanda, Post Office – Hakimpur, PS– Swaroopnagar) in Swaroopada market. After crossing the BSF duty line, this consignment was to be handed back to Ibad Ghazi. When they were trying to cross the duty line of the Border Security Force, the jawans apprehended them.

The apprehended smugglers have been handed over to Custom Office Tentulia with the seized items.

The Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier, expressed happiness over the achievements of the 112 troops. He stated that stopping this type of smuggling has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by their jawans on duty.
