The Health & Enforcement branches of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted a drive in Bharalumukh, Santipur and Uzanbazar areas of Guwahati city today (January 4, 2022).
A total of 8 (eight) business establishments including sweet manufacturing karkhanas, restaurants and sweet shop were inspected during the drive, out of which, 4 (four) trades were found to be operating without a valid trade licence. Health and hygienic issues were detected in 6 (six) numbers of trades.
As per provisions of the GMC Act, all parties operating with violations were issued notices, and fines were imposed.
A total of Rs. 1,00,500/- (Rupees One lakh Five hundred only) was collected as penalty during the drive.
