N.F. Railway unloads 1282 rakes of freight trains during December 2021 of essential and other commodities

Northeast Frontier Railway has unloaded 1282 freight carrying trains in December, 2021. N. F. Railway carried 9941 rakes of freight trains from April to December, 2021 as against 8201 rakes in corresponding period of last year with an increase of 21.21%.

N. F. Railway has transported goods like FCI rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, POL, food grains, fertilizer, cement, stone chips, iron/steel, onion, maize, auto, container and other items during the month and unloaded them in different goods sheds in its jurisdiction.

During December, 686 rakes of freight-carrying trains were unloaded in Assam out of which 389 were loaded with essential commodities. 138 rakes in Tripura, 21 rakes in Nagaland, 5 rakes in Manipur, 4 rakes in Arunachal Pradesh and 7 rakes in Mizoram were unloaded during the month. 240 freight rakes in West Bengal and 181 freight rakes in Bihar were also unloaded during the month within the jurisdiction of N. F. Railway.

Essential and other commodities are being transported regularly to not only meet the essential requirement of common people but also to keep the local economic activity of all the regions going.

Improved terminal handling facility and improvement in mobility due to enhanced maintenance efforts & continuous monitoring at all level resulted in reduction in turnaround time and increased unloading.
