The Indian Coast Guard celebrated its 46th raising day on 01 Feb 22. From a modest beginning of just 7 boats and ships in 1978, the service has grown into a formidable force with 158 ships and 70 aircraft in its inventory.
To commemorate the occasion, Indian Coast Guard hosted a reception on 01 Feb 22 at Coast Guard premises at Maniktala, Kolkata. The Hon’ble Governor Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar graced the occasion as Chief Guest and performed the traditional cake cutting ceremony.
During the event, the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal congratulated the Indian Coast Guard on completion of 45 glorious years of service to the nation and appreciated the pivotal role played by the service in ensuring the national interests in the Maritime Zones. He lauded the efforts of Coast Guard in bringing succour to fishermen and mariners in distress at sea.
