Asian Games selection trials to be held in New Delhi under the aegis of EFI

Selection trials to shortlist best Horse-Rider combinations for the show jumping team to represent the country at the Asian Games 2022 will take place from 9^th March to 13^th March at the TARC Equestrian Centre in New Delhi. This is the fourth selection trials and will be held in line with technical standards as per selection criteria issued by the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI). The Asian Games are scheduled to be held from 10^th to 25 September at Hangzhou, China.

Show jumping is a part of equestrian event that test the stamina, speed and flexibility of the horses and the relationship shared by the horse with its riders. 25 Horse-Rider combinations are expected to take part in the selection trials in individual and team events in various categories. The fourth trial event will also include JNEC Category CSN Events to provide more exposure to the age groups of athletes. One more selection trials is scheduled after which final list for selected athletes will be prepared.

Col Jaiveer Singh, Secretary General, Equestrian Federation of India said, “After successfully conducting trials for show jumping at Bengaluru and twice in Mumbai, we are happy to conduct the trials in New Delhi. The upcoming Asian Games is an excellent opportunity for budding and experienced athletes to compete at the international stage and bring laurels for the country. EFI is committed to promote the sport and facilitate international exposure for Indian riders so that they can compete at the highest international levels”.

Schedule – The EFI Show Jumping CSN 1* & 3* and JNEC Category CSN Events will be held at TARC Equestrian Centre, Chattarpur wef 09 – 13 Mar 2022.
