Fit @ 50 Trans Himalayan Expedition, an all women expedition being led by Padma Bhushan Ms Bachendri Pal was flagged off from Pangsau Pass, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh on 12 Mar 2022.
Being conducted Under Fit India Movement, the expedition is aimed at promoting physical fitness amongst the younger generation. The expedition was flagged off at Pangsau Pass and will culminate in Ladakh covering a distance of approx 4977 Km across the country.
Indian Army is assisting the participants of the expedition with accomodation ,medical and security cover during conduct of expedition. The 12 member squad of the expedition are seasoned mountaineers who are also mothers, grandmothers & homemakers.
The flagging off ceremony witnessed overwhelming participation from local population as they cheered the participants and pledged to remain physically fit.
