GRSE has a long association with Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (IICP) dating back to 2009. GRSE has been adopting 02 Education Development Units (EDU IV &V) and 01 Vocational Training Unit called Life Skill Training Unit (LSTU). The 03 classes covering 43 special children (as on date) who have severe multiple impairments are being supported by GRSE through this project since 2011-12.
The children of the EDUs IV & V falling in the age group of 12-14 & 14-18 years respectively are imparted training in basic academic and life-oriented language and numeracy skills for achieving minimum level of self- reliance and functional competence. The children of LSTU fall in the age group of 14-18 years and are trained in pre-vocation skills like block printing, making bead & junk jewellery, paper packets from newspaper, greeting cards, decorated earthen lamps, diyas, rakhis etc.
In FY 2021-22, GRSE is providing financial support of Rs. 17.68 lakh for this project under its CSR initiative. The children of IICP staged a colourful cultural programme which was followed by handing over of the ceremonial cheque by Cmde PR Hari, IN(Retd.), C&MD (Officiating), GRSE in the presence of Sri R K Dash, Director (Finance) and other senior officials of GRSE.
