“World Blood Donor Day” is celebrated every year on 14th June. On this occasion 151 Base Hospital, Army in collaboration with Blood Bank, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital organized a voluntary blood donation camp at 151 Base Hospital premises on 13 June 2022. The chief guest of the camp was Maj Gen Vikas Saini, SM, VSM**, GOC, 51 Sub Area. Prof (Dr) Achyut Chandra Baishya, MD, Principal, GMCH also graced the occasion. The Blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from Army personnel. 74 serving personnel voluntarily donated blood in the camp. The event celebrated theme for ‘World Blood Donor Day’ 2022 which is “Donating blood is an act of solidarity”. This theme highlights the importance of donating blood and how it can save valuable lives. This camp was organized as a military-civilian aid to build up blood resources in the state.
