NH-06 Highway connected with Southern Assam ( three districts of Assam Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi), Mizoram, and Tripura collapses after continuous rain and landslides. Vehicles have been advised not to take this route.
East Jaintia Hills Police of Meghalaya tweeted, ” IMPORTANT UPDATE AND ALERT. Due to the continuous heavy down pour, some parts of the NH06 under Lumshnong Police Station is witnessing minor flash floods . We request travels to avoid taking this route tonight if possible.”
Meghalaya has been hit by intense rain, floods and landslides this year that has left several people displaced.

The Railway connectivity of Badarpur- Lumding was closed from May 2022 because heavily effected after rain and landslides in Dima Hasao District. N.F. Railway is targeting speedy restoration work in the Lumding- Badarpur hill section with an aim to restart services by 10th July informed it media.
