Director, Agriculture, Anant Lal Gyani today held a review meeting for relief and rehabilitation work in the wake of the second wave of floods which affected the district with officials of the Sonitpur district administration at a meeting held at the conference hall of the DC’s office. Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra, CEP, Zilla Parishad, Karabi Saikia, ADC, Romy Baruah, all Circle Officers, Block Development Officers and heads of various concerned line departments were present in today’s meeting.
The Director asked the officials present to carry out all pending works as per the timeline already fixed, as directed by the Chief Minister earlier today through a video conference with DCs of severely affected districts. He also directed the Circle officers to prepare a proper list of flood victims taking shelter in all relief camps and camp-like centres, and submit the same before July 5 as they will be getting a one-time assistance of Rs. 3800. Also, the Inspector of Schools was directed to prepare a list of all school going children taking shelter in relief camps as they will be getting Rs 1000 as assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the Director, Agriculture that the Circle level Task Forces have already been constituted in Sonitpur district and they have been given the responsibility of preparing a proper flood damage assessment report covering all types of infrastructure that have been damaged in the recent floods across the district.
Heads of various line departments also submitted individual SOPs with regards to assessment of flood damage to the district administration during the meeting.
