TWO TOUTs APPREHENDED ON THE INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER, BOTH WERE INVOLVED IN BORDER CRIMES FOR FIVE YEARS

On the basis of specific input, two people were apprehended by the troops of Border Out Post Ranghat, 68 Battalion on the border. Both the men were helping of people in illegally crossing of International Boundary illegally whose identity is revealed as below : 1-Sasti Sarkar, age 25 years, S/o Govind Sarkar and Rehman Dafadar, age 28 years, S/o Sikandar Dafadar. Both are residents of bordering village Kulia, District-North 24 Parganas. During interrogation, both admitted that they were involved in trans-border crimes such as ganja, phensedyl and cattle smuggling as well as help of people in illegally crossing of International Boundary for the past five years. Further both revealed that they had come near the International Boundary to receive two Bangladeshi nationals even today, when the BSF apprehended both of them.

Both the apprehended were handed over to the Police Station Baghdah.

Shri Yogendra Agrawal, Commanding Officer, 68 Battalion informed that the Border Security Force is taking stringent steps to stop the trans-border crimes due to which people involved in such crimes are facing a lot of difficulties out of which some are being caught. The officer said in strong words that the Border Security Force will not allow such crimes and smuggling from its area under any circumstances.
