Subham Das age about 20 years died due to landslide on tuesday night at Ledo 6 No line of Tirap Colliery (NEC) under 124 No Margherita constituency of Tinsukia district while he was carrying illegal coal to coke bhatta situated at Ledo 6 Number line.
The deceased Subham Das works for notorious coal thief Prabin Tanti of Ledo Tea estate.
Subham Das is the only son of Tapan Das who is a daily wage labourer and a resident of 1 Number Coal para Ledo which falls under Ledo Gaon Panchayat of 124 No Margherita constituency of Tinsukia district. Subham Das due to landslide but unfortunately his dead body was not taken for police verification and post morten which coal thieves threatened the deceased family members to remain silent and forcefully Subham Das dead body was cremated at Tikak Colliery Crematorium on tuesday midnight 2 am which tension has prevailed at 124 No Margherita constituency that human lives has no value in the eyes of coal thieves of Margherita region.
Under North Eastern Coal fields Coal India ltd Margherita there are 6 collieries such as Namdang, Baragolai, Tikak,Ledo,Tirap and Tipong Collieries but at present only Tikak Colliery is functional which many questions have raised that other Collieries have not work order to extract coal than how coal thieves extracting coal from these Collieries asked a conscious citizen of Margherita.
It may be mention that in a month at Patkai hills of North Eastern Coal fields Coal India ltd Margherita more than 8 to 10 workers dies due to illegally entering and extracting coal from the coal areas which the dead bodies are forcefully cremated by coal thieves hence many family members of the deceased still wait that one day they will get justice.
Debojit Moran General Secretary of Green Bud Society(NGO) said that at Patkai hills of North Eastern Coal fields more than 1000 people have died due to illegally entering and extracting coal but than also not a single worker family members have got justice which in the year 2020 June 8 Coal India Ltd has stopped coal production due to Environment issue which in this year on the month of march only Tikak Colliery got permission to extract coal than how it is possible that all the other collieries of NEC extracting coal illegally by the hands of mafias which I demand an impartial NIA or CBI enquiry so against those workers who died due to landslide or other incidents at Patkai hills of North Eastern Coal fields Coal India Ltd Margherita.
