On the occasion of the birthday of Former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the nation celebrates Teachers’ Day across states and districts with tributes to the teaching community who has been imparting education to their respective students over the years so far.
The celebration of Teachers’ Day at Nagaon was held in a special way with poem recitation competition being held for students at Ratnakanta High School in Amola Patty. The event started at 4:00 pm and went on for around three hours today.
This was organised by Ms. Engineers Guild, a premier organisation engaged in the field of architecture established in 1991. Around one hundred locals participated in the programme including students from various schools. The programme also discussed the immense role of Late Dr. Radhakrishnan in imparting holistic education among the student community.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has participated in our programme for celebration of Teachers’ Day at Ratnakanta High School today. I also offer my tributes to Dr. Radhakrishnan”, said Manoj Kumar Sarma, who took up the initiative to hold special celebrations. Sarma is a well-known poet in the district of Nagaon in Central Assam, and is actively connected with the Assam Sahitya Sabha.
